Frequently asked questions

Everything you'd like to know before you shop — answered plainly.

We curate small-batch goods sourced directly from Sri Lanka — single-estate teas and coffees (including our Lanterra and Ceylon origins), artisan batik scarves and shirts, handwoven bags, moonstone jewelry, pure Ceylon cinnamon, and decorative crafts. Every piece is chosen for its origin story and the hands behind it.

Mass-market teas and coffees are blended for consistency at scale. Ours come from specific estates in Sri Lanka's central highlands — single-origin, estate-named, and harvested by the same smallholder families season after season. You'll taste the altitude and the soil, not a formula.

Most cinnamon sold in the U.S. is Cassia — a harder, stronger bark with elevated coumarin levels. True Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum), native to Sri Lanka, is lighter, more complex in flavor, and lower in coumarin. Ours is sourced direct from Sri Lankan producers — the real thing, not a substitute.

Yes. Our batik pieces — scarves, shirts, and wraps — are hand-dyed using traditional wax-resist techniques by Sri Lankan artisans. The woven bags are made by hand using locally sourced fibers. Small production runs mean slight variations in pattern and color from piece to piece; we consider that a feature, not a flaw.

Sri Lanka is one of the world's primary sources of blue-flash moonstone — the highest-quality variety, prized for its adularescence (that inner glow). Our jewelry is set by Sri Lankan silversmiths using stones sourced from the island's gem-producing regions. Each piece is one-of-a-kind or made in very limited quantities.

We're currently in pre-launch. Inventory is being sourced and our shop will open soon. Sign up for our mailing list to be the first to know — and to access any launch-day offers before they go public.

At launch we'll ship within the United States. International shipping is on our roadmap — join the mailing list and we'll let you know when your country is covered.

We stand behind everything we send. If something arrives damaged, incorrect, or not as described, contact us within 14 days of delivery and we'll make it right — exchange, store credit, or refund. Because many of our items are perishable (tea, coffee, cinnamon) or handmade in limited quantities, we ask that consumables are returned unopened and textiles unworn with tags intact.

We pack with care. Teas and coffees ship in sealed, resealable bags designed to protect freshness and aroma. Textiles are folded and wrapped in tissue. Jewelry ships in a small gift box. We use minimal, recyclable outer packaging — nothing excessive, nothing wasteful.

Serendip Soul started with a trip through Sri Lanka's central highlands — the mist, the slope, the way a cup of tea tastes different when you're sitting above the clouds looking at the garden it came from. We're a Florida-based husband-and-wife team with family roots in Sri Lanka, and we built this shop because we wanted a direct line between those producers and people here who'd genuinely appreciate them.

Directly where we can. For tea and coffee, we work with specific estate contacts and toll roasters. For textiles, jewelry, and crafts, we source from individual artisans and small collectives. We avoid commodity distributors — not out of principle for its own sake, but because the sourcing story matters to the product, and the product should be able to tell it.

We take sourcing seriously. We know the producers we work with by name. We pay fair prices at origin, we don't squeeze margins at the expense of the people doing the growing and making, and we're selective about what we bring in. We won't claim a third-party certification we don't have — but we'll tell you exactly where something comes from and who made it, because that's the whole point.

We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover), PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay — all processed securely through Shopify Payments. We do not store your card details.

No — you can check out as a guest. Creating an account just makes it easier to track orders and repeat purchases down the line.
