C5-grade Ceylon cinnamon quills from Sri Lanka, with the same true Cinnamomum verum character in a slightly fuller, more everyday whole-stick format.
What It Is
C5 is a traditional grade of true Ceylon cinnamon. The quills are made from many thin layers of inner bark rolled together, giving them the soft, papery structure that distinguishes Ceylon cinnamon from hard cassia bark.
Taste & Aroma
Sweet, warm and aromatic with a fuller spice profile than very fine Alba quills, while still remaining gentler and more delicate than cassia.
How to Use
Steep whole in tea, cider and warm drinks.
Add to curries, rice, braises and simmered dishes.
Use in baking syrups, poaching liquids and preserves.
Break or grind fresh when a recipe needs cinnamon powder.
Why Ceylon Cinnamon
Ceylon cinnamon is Cinnamomum verum, a different botanical species from common cassia. Its layered quills, softer flavor and naturally lower coumarin profile make it especially well suited to regular cooking and drinks.
